St David’s Day Special Break Announced to Celebrate ‘Best of Wales’
Joan and Rob Reen bought back Ynyshir Hall in 2011 after the collapse of von Essen hotels who had purchased the hotel in 2006. Joan and Rob had always stayed on managing the hotel but when the hotel group collapsed the couple knew they would buy it back immediately. Since then the hotel has gone from strength to strength. Young Welsh chef Paul Croasdale achieved 3 AA Rosettes this year, followed by the hotel being awarded the global 100 hotels in the Fodor’s 100 Hotel Awards. Now, Visit Wales have again awarded Ynyshir Hall a Gold Standard Award confirmed through rigorous mystery customer testing. The Gold Award rewards outstanding quality, exceptional comfort and hospitality in the serviced sector in Wales.
Ynyshir Hall Hotel will soon grow from 8 bedrooms to 10 bedrooms and continues to be the home of BBC show Springwatch, further putting Mid Wales on the map. Joan and Rob continue to invest in the property. To celebrate the recent wins Ynyshir Hall have a special St David’s Day break for 2013 designed to celebrate ‘Best of Wales’:
Welsh Afternoon Tea including Welsh cakes & Bara Brith (a fruity tea bread), a 5 course dinner featuring the best local produce, a bottle of Penderyn Welsh Whisky to take home along with a bunch of Daffodils in the bedroom. Priced from £450.00 per night, based on two sharing. Valid from December 2012 to April 2013, excluding bank holiday dates.
Ynyshir Hall, set within the secret heart of Wales with Britain’s finest bird reserve, the RSPB Ynys-hir Nature Reserve on its doorstep, is today one of the UK’s finest boutique foodie hotels and the only Relais & Chateaux hotel in Wales. The hotel is surrounded by the Cambrian Mountains and the views from all parts of the hotel are of nature – you can’t see another property, you can’t hear traffic noise and on occasions you feel you are in your very own private haven. This is why the hotel was once a favourite hidden retreat of Queen Victoria.
The breath-taking scenery in this secret heart of Wales amongst the magical Dovey estuary ensures all visitors leave revitalised. You are encouraged to make the most of the unspoilt outdoors and explore. This is after all the home of the BBC show Springwatch. Mother Nature untarnished by human intrusion, flourishes in all her glory in an inviting exploratory way.
Says Joan Reen; “I fell in love with Ynyshir Hall in 1989, and still believe this area is one of the loveliest places in the World. Ynyshir has been our life and passion for the last 24 years, buying it back enables us to go from strength to strength with renewed vigour”.
Come and discover this unique part of Wales, explore a special award winning hotel and enjoy divine cuisine within an outstanding destination.
